He will never let the righteous fall!

i'd like to preface this blog by saying right now ... as i sit in my cozy home with my feet tucked under me and my sweat pants on ... i don't have one single care in the world. i feel content and my heart leaps with thanksgiving for all i have and all i do not have ... for clearly that is exactly how the Lord has it planned.
i'm sure if i thought about it enough i could think of some things that might bring me stress or anxiety at times but for the most part my heart has grown into a rhythm that is restful and strong. i feel that little tug of hope in my heart ... and it feels like my heart has wings. i like that feeling.

with that said ... i'd like to talk about the strength behind this verse that has been on my heart so very much lately:

Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.

ok here is another version:

Pile your troubles on God's shoulders - he'll carry your load, he'll help you out. He'll never let good people topple into ruin.

truth is ... i've probably heard that verse a million times in my life but for some reason i never comprehended that last little bit ... "he will never let the righteous fall." how about that? all those times in my past when i doubted everything the Lord was doing ... i could have been leaning on the understanding that he will never let the righteous fall.

even in my peace and contentment he will never let me fall. he is my firm foundation on which i build my hope. he will be that foundation when things are good or when things are bad. all i have to do is keep my eyes on him!

take a minute to think about that verse and bask in the delight of the Lord. take a minute to realize that He IS Love  ... and He created love ... and he looks at you with adoring eyes. and with watchful eyes. he will NEVER let his people fall. never.

there is great hope to be found in that verse. there is great joy to be had in the arms of the Lord. if you feel like you are falling apart i beg of you to run to the arms of our Savior. sit with him awhile and just listen to him. he will tell you how much he loves you and how beautiful you truly are (because you are ... and so am i) and he will assure you of his promise.

let him carry your load. he wants to. it isn't yours to carry. once you give up trying to lug all that stuff around your heart will be free and content ... just like mine has become.

there is freedom in it all.

and it is beautiful.
