28

i'm not sure there is enough room to say all the things that i learned or loved during my 28th year on this earth. it was the most challenging year of my adult life (so far) but here i am ... still here to write this blog ... which means that the Lord is still doing his perfect work in my life.

28 was a roller coaster. seriously. so many wonderful high points and so many rock bottom lows. if i think hard enough i might be able to remember them all but i suppose it doesn't really matter all that much anymore.

i lost my job and got a new one when i was 28. i learned to trust fully in the Lord and have real faith in Him when i was 28. i took my dad on a trip of a lifetime when i was 28. i chose to love and not fear when i was 28. i got rid of some really bad habits and friends when i was 28. i found at least 1 friend who believes in me, through and through, when i was 28.

and this is just the beginning of it all ....

so as the minutes tick away today and my 28th years draws to an end ... i am deciding right here and now to choose to be my authentic self always. i am choosing to walk into 29 with my head held high. i believe i am beautiful and a delight ... not because of my own self but because that is exactly the person the Lord knit together in my mother's womb 29 years ago.

i have a great feeling about this year. i believe my hopes and dreams will be fabulously fulfilled by the grace and love of my Savior.

so to 28 i say thank you. without you i wouldn't be who i am today. i'll cherish you always. thanks for the memories.

  1. Hi Krystal, I stumbled upon your blog after seening a picture of Fozzy (btw 100% cuteness) that you took, wanted to let you know I love your writing and attitude. I particularly enjoyed your beautiful words in your Sophia's Heart blog, thru Danny we have gotten to know Sophia and what a beautiful heart. She dedicated herself to wanting to make a difference in people's lives and I am so proud to be a fan of Danny's and to see that he is keeping her dream alive.
I have been a supporter of SH since I learned of its existence. Wishing you a great 29th and from the sound of what you write you have a lot to look forward to, much happiness to you today, tomorrow and always! Toni/tonicNY
