i am not sure that i am totally ready to write this blog ... and i wonder if i ever will be really ... so i'll start.
this last weekend i had the privileged of going to monterrey, mexico with caroline, carolyne and jordan from pureNRG. they are a group i work with here at word. the purpose of our trip was to go and present a bus, that pureNRG bought, to an orphanage that was in desperate need of new transportation. before we gave them this 50 passenger bus they only had a 15 passenger bus to carry all 48 kids to and from school. and yes, they actually fit them all in there. so it was amazing to be able to give them the bus and see the look on their faces when they realized it was for them.
we gave the bus away first thing when we arrived in mexico so it's easy to say that my life changed immediately.
i could go on and on about all the things i learned and am still learning from this trip. that's why writing about it is so hard. it was like nothing i have ever experienced. the orphans are the most precious little people i have ever met. they are so excited to hug and kiss and love you. all they want in return in some attention and love ... which is something we had plenty of.
the conditions they live in are sometimes terrible. it broke my heart to change the sheets on some beds that had probably be wet for 2 weeks. that poor little baby had to lay on wet sheets and a wet mattress for who knows how long. we were able to come in and freshen up the place as much we could ... but there is so much need in these places.
i wish i could have stayed there. i wish i could have brought them all home with me. i would have if i could have.
the saddest part of it all is that most of the orphans cannot be adopted. these kids are normally just literally dropped off and the parents do not sign the necessary papers to allow them to be up for adoption. so heart breaking! so i pray for the kids who have no choice but to live there. i pray they find strength in who the Lord made them to be and i hope someone spends enough time with them to show them the love of Christ. and i pray those who can be adopted find a place filled with love.
i grew up a little over the weekend. i was taught love from kids i'd never met and from the 3 wonderful teenagers i went with. caroline, carolyne and jordan are 3 of the most amazing teenagers i've ever met. they are so kind and compassionate. they are funny and outgoing. they loved on the kids as if they were their own and i learned a lot from them. i always do.
so if you are interested in being able to help the orphans at all in this part of the country let me know and i can direct you to a place that helps them on a daily basis.
i ask you to really appreciate the things you have. lay down tonight and thank the Lord for a clean bed and food to eat and people who love you. not everyone is as fortunate. we are so blessed to know the love of the Lord.

This is heartbreaking! Those children are precious, and I pray that they will be able to be adopted into loving, stable homes!
