i am so blessed to have a few people in my life who speak truth. sometimes the truth makes me feel like a million bucks. sometimes the truth crushing my last hope. but when the words are spoken in love i know it is something i need to hear. how wonderful to have begun my year in january with truth from a friend and ended my year with truth from the same friend in december. you see ... that's just the way God works.

it's hard in the world we live in to not want to be viewed as beautiful. we live in a world where it feel strange if we are not thought of as beautiful. as i am growing in my own skin and have learned and will always continue to learn that i am beautiful ... my deepest prayer is that the beauty of the Lord is on my face. i pray my beauty is found in more than my hair, skin, or body. i pray my beauty is found in me because the Lord has made his home in me.

i cannot fulfill my destiny without my history. where i am going is a reflection of where i have been ... and that is a good thing. my history is who i am. my mistakes are what have taught me. my joys are what sustain me. my accomplishments are what have brought me to this place. i will never try to detach my history from my life again because i cannot see my future without it.
