movie reviews

i'll try not to make my movie review post too boring but i wanted to tell you of movies i have seen over the last week. 

1. the dark knight: dark, scary, brilliant, long, epic. that pretty much sums it up. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time and sometimes that wasn't a good thing. i thought heath did a wonderful job and, yes, he deserves the oscar. i would say you should see it, but you might wait till it comes out on video if you need to. 

2. mama mia: HILARIOUS!, happy, enjoyable. now this is something you have to see. it is great for a laugh and really was just very well done. obviously the music is fantastic and the humor they put into it was great. they didn't take it too seriously which made it a joy to watch. i almost want to go see it again. i would say go see it in the theatre. it's worth it. 

3. steel magnolias: sad, thought provoking, funny, reality. no, i had never seen this movie until monday. i know. i know. but i loved it. i thought it was just really real and made me think about a lot of things. i'd like to own it. 

4. pirates of the caribbean 1, 2, and 3: i LOVE johnny depp!, funny, needless sword fighting, entertaining. i had never seen these movies either so i thought i'd give them all a shot, one right after the other. i thought they were good. johnny depp made it worth watching. i want there to be a 4th.

next ... lord of the rings (which i have sworn off for years. oh well. i'm caving in.)
