I have a tendency to complicate things. It’s not on purpose. It’s just that I think too much about ... well ... everything.
So if you say something is red I am going to look at it until I figure out what shades of red it is and if maybe it is more pink than actually red.
That’s just one example of many I can think of.
I just have a hard time keeping things simple.
My faith is the same way.
We as believers are bombarded everyday with things we should and shouldn’t do. How we should and shouldn’t feel. What to eat. What to drink. What to wear. What to say. The list goes on and on.
It’s gotten a little overboard if you ask me. It complicates Christianity so much that it makes people not want to be a part of the family of believers because it all just seems too much.
The other day after spending some time in the Word I was convicted of my tendency to complicate things.
I realized at that moment that it really is simple. Life is simple. Love is simple.
What I realized, for my own life, is that I have to simply walk this road hand in hand with the Lord. I have to take the Bible at its word and read it enough to know the answers to my trails and tribulations.
The Bible was written for us to live by. Plain and simple. If you read it and you put it to memory the rest should be pretty simple.
Where I am in life simply looks like this:
I am alive. I am breathing. I am a wonderful God created creature.
I have a job. I work at that job daily. While I am working I thank the Lord for all of His blessings! I earn money here to pay for the things I need.
I have a house. I keep my house clean and free of things that shouldn’t be there. I enjoy my home. I thank the Lord for my home.
I am single and will happily walk down this simple single road until, Lord willing, He gives me another hand to hold as I walk this same path. Only things that changes is that someone else is walking this road with me.
If there isn't someone else planned to walk the road with me ... I walk alone. Happily.
If someone mistreats me I react in love.
If someone offers me things that I know are not part of what the Lord gives me permission to do I say, “No!”
If someone offers me an opportunity that is something the Lord would give me permission to do I say, “Yes!”
I read the Word. I memorize the Word. I live by the Word.
I pray every day that the Lord use me as he has planned.
And He will.
It’s really just that simple.
Now I will relax. And enjoy the simple life.

This is the way I view my life too! If only more people could just 'keep things simple' - there may be more peace in the world....
I also believe that "Faith will move mountains" - I am a HUGE believer in that!
I love all your blogs Krystal - refreshing and very funny!! Keep up the good work!
