History in the making ...

I love history. It has always been my favorite subject. My grades didn't always reflect it, though. Actually they never did. I blame it on bad teaching. I am sure I was the perfect student. It had to be bad teaching.

I love watching history being told right in front of my face. I love knowing that someday my kids (hopefully) or nieces or whomever, will be learning things in text books that I actually watched with my own eyes.

Today one of my favorite things happened ... a space shuttle launched. Other than police car chases, which I happen to LOVE watching, space shuttles just get my heart beating fast.

Today's space shuttle wasn't just any ole space shuttle. It was the very last to be launched in the NASA space shuttle program. Our job in building the space station way out yonder is done. And so is the launching of the shuttles.

The first time they launched a shuttle, in April of 1981, I wasn't even a thought. And now here I sit, in my 29 year old skin, watching as they let the last one, Atlantis, go.

An amazing site.

Through you, we feel as giants, once again.
