another year is here ...

“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”

Christmas

i was fortunate enough to get 2 week off from work for Christmas. one of the great perks of my new job. (which i seem to have failed to have mentioned. i am now the assistant to an agent at a talent/booking agency called CAA.) so i came home to Mississippi for the couple of weeks. and then we went to Charlotte, NC for Christmas ... and it snowed.

it's been so great to have some time off (with a job) and be able to relax. i go home to Nashville today and i have mixed feelings about it. i always do.

here are a few pictures from the week.

a dream come true.

if you would have told me 2 months ago that i would be the happiest i've ever been today i would have probably smiled at you and acted like you weren't crazy ... but i would have thought you were crazy. i'm just being honest.

truth is though ... i am happier than i've ever been. life is wonderful and God finally got through to me. it was worth the 28 years of hurt and tears to get to where i am today.

anywho ... it's Christmastime and i feel more festive than i ever have. i got all of my shopping done before thanksgiving and got my decorations up too. i've been to a few Christmas parties and Christmas concerts. it's just all been so fun ... and then ...

today it SNOWED. and it is still snowing! it's seriously like a dream come true to see the Christmas lights reflecting in the snow and sitting by the tree watching the snow fall. it's kinda surreal. and lovely.

some of you might not be in a place with snow, but i hope that you are feeling as cheery as i am. take a minute to be thankful for all you have, for all you're going through and for all the joy that will come ... i promise it will come.

merry Christmas to all!
